Before You Go Out Tonight, Text “REDCROSS” to 90999

Have one less drink this weekend and text “REDCROSS” to 90999, which will donate $10 via your cellphone bill to relief efforts in Japan due to the historically catastrophic earthquake, resultant tsunamis, and numerous massive aftershocks. For more info visit Red Cross.

On what else you could do to help, Huffington Post has compiled a list of organizations that are currently in the process of responding to aid Japan.

If you have family, friends, and loved ones in the affected areas, which also include Taiwan, Tonga, and even Hawaii, I hope they are safe.

I called my mom and told her I loved her and that I’m glad our family in Japan and Taiwan are all safe. It made me feel better. We’re all very lucky.
